NEWS

A human body has 10 times more bacterial cells than human cells. Wherever we go, microbes go with us, therefore it is important to understand how they affect us...

Bacteria rarely live alone - instead, they prefer to grow in crowds and squat on surfaces like our teeth and gums.

They form communities known as plaque/biofilm.

Biofilm research is still a relatively "new" science, but it is suspected that 80% of all diseases are caused/contributed to by biofilm.

Bacterial plaque/biofilm adhering to teeth causes chronic irritation which develops into gingivitis and periodontitis (gum disease). These conditions can lead to bleeding gums, bad breath, infections, abscess, tooth mobility and tooth loss, but can be prevented with regular thorough dental hygiene cleanings.
